What this website keeps when you visit it or ask for an estimate, and who else sees it. It covers sbcnashville.com only.

The estimate form

The form asks for your name, phone and email and the kind of project, and, if you like, the city it’s in, your timing, a budget range, how you heard about us and a few words about the job. When you send it, the site saves your answers in its own database on Cloudflare, with the page you sent it from and the country your connection is in. Then it emails them through Cloudflare’s email service to the Southern Belle team, with a copy to the marketing company that works with Southern Belle. It’s ordinary email, so leave anything sensitive out of it. We use what you send to reply to you and to prepare an estimate.

Our own record of visits

Each time a page loads, the site notes it on Cloudflare’s servers before anything runs in your browser: the page, the site, search or ad that brought you, your device and browser, and the town, state and country your connection is in and its internet provider, as Cloudflare estimates them. It doesn’t store your IP address or anything with your name on it. It also notes when someone taps the phone number or the email address or sends the form, with the browser’s language and time zone and the same rough location, down to the ZIP code, and how many seconds each page stays open. That’s how we see which pages lead people to get in touch.

Visits from outside the United States are turned away, and the country Cloudflare reports for your connection is what decides it.

Cookies

The site sets one cookie of its own, ts_src, on the first page of a visit. It remembers how the visit began (the site, search or ad that sent you, the page you landed on, the kind of device and the time) so a call or a request can be traced back to it. It holds no identifier and is gone when you close your browser.

Google Analytics sets _ga, a random number that tells your browser apart from others when you come back, and one cookie for each of the two Analytics properties below, _ga_7SL5S4PFT8 and _ga_5DDY94T2MH, which keep track of the visit you’re on. The Google Ads tag sets _gcl_au, and _gcl_aw when you arrive from one of our ads.

Google Analytics and Google Ads

The site reports visits to two Google Analytics properties: G-7SL5S4PFT8, which our old website used, and G-5DDY94T2MH, set up with this one. They give us a second count of visits, beside our own. Each runs in your browser and tells Google which pages you look at, how you got here, your device and browser, and roughly where you are, and hears when someone taps the phone number or reaches the thank-you page after sending the form, never what the form said. The Google Ads tag (AW-11327897341) tells Google Ads about your visit, so it can be matched to a click on one of our ads. All three start once the page has loaded, or at your first tap or key press. Google says what it does with all of this in its privacy policy and in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. Google’s opt-out add-on turns Analytics off, and My Ad Center controls the ads Google shows you.

Who else is involved

Cloudflare runs the site, its database and the form’s email, and like any host it sees your IP address when it sends you a page. It also adds a small script of its own to each page, Cloudflare Web Analytics, which reports how quickly the page loaded, and which page it was, back to Cloudflare; it sets no cookies. The typefaces and pictures are served from this site itself.
